7 Packing Hacks One Should Know To Travel Efficiently Post COVID-19

If you’re an avid traveller and intend to travel the world’s many destinations post the scare of COVID-19, you must have come across the turmoil of smart packing! The idea of packing, especially for a long journey is often a fine balance between taking essential items with you and not burdening yourself or weighing yourself down. This becomes even more crucial after the outbreak of the pandemic.  Here are 7 packing hacks from my travel that can help you get ready for the next adventure!

  • Sanitizer, Mask & Gloves

The first and foremost requisite to keep in mind especially after the outbreak of corona-virus is to ensure that all your items are properly sanitized. Apart from this pack an alcohol-based hand sanitizer to ensure that you are travelling with necessary safety. Apart from this make sure that you pack reusable masks along with gloves. It’s essential to be safe when planning to travel. Using the mask and gloves at all time when in public will help you staying safe and enjoying a pleasurable travel experience post the lockdown.

However, a key word of caution is that one shouldn’t unnecessarily stock up on these necessities due to the scarcity of these.

  •  The Roll vs Fold

People who use both styles to pack can attest to either style! But you don’t have to choose the method anymore! While planning for your next trip, use this lockdown period to learn the art of rolling and folding. You can choose to roll more wrinkle-prone items like blouses while folding heavier items like jeans and hoodies. This is the most space-efficient way to pack light.

  • Divide By Weight

A rule of thumb in packing for travel is to ensure that the heaviest items are at the bottom of your luggage. Items like shoes, jeans etc places most of the weights at the bottom of your suitcase, making it stable and for your luggage wheels to work more efficiently without toppling!

  • Secure Your Chargers

No one wants to dig through their luggage to find fish out a phone charger or other wires. A good hack is to carry a sunglass case but not for sunglasses! Put all your charging cables in the case for a seamless experience whenever you need your electronics the most!

  • Keep Your Shirt Collars In Shape

For all your work meetings post the lockdown ends this next hack is for you! Nothing is worse than travelling for a work meeting only to find your carefully ironed shirt wrinkled and the collar bent. To avoid that, pack a rolled-up belt in the collar to extend its ironed state. This also makes sure you save space elsewhere!

  • Pack Only What You Need

It is our tendency to carry almost every type of clothing for a short trip, most of which will just stay at the bottom of your luggage. Try to objectively pack for your travels, keeping in mind the number of days, nights and whether you are expecting any formal events along the way. If you’re intending to work out, try to pack shoes which can also serve as sneakers for casual wear. Limit your luggage so you can better enjoy (and shop!) from when you are exploring new places!

  •  Secure Essential Medicine

This one is crucial given the situation. Even though the medical facility and pharmacy around the world are sufficient to help you cope up with your sudden health issues. Still, it’s important that you keep the necessary medication at hand. You can pack the necessary medicine in a small paper bag labelling each medicine aside to the issue it would treat. Especially to treat seasonal flu, fever and sore throat. Chances are that you might fall ill due to the travel exertion and people might mistake your condition for COVID-19. Hence, it is essential to carry only the necessary medication which might help you cope up with such issues.

However, having said this it is strictly advised that if your condition worsens and you might find your symptoms challenging immediately visit a doctor/hospital wearing a mask and sanitizing your hands.
